Lakes Legacy


What is the Lakes Legacy?

The Lakes Legacy is a special giving society for supporters of New Hampshire Lakes Association. It is comprised of NH LAKES members who contribute annual gifts beginning at the $500 level.

When was the Lakes Legacy formed?

The Lakes Legacy was formed in 2002 on the tenth anniversary of the New Hampshire Lakes Association. At this time, Board and staff envisioned a vehicle for lake enthusiasts to demonstrate their strong commitment to maintaining and enhancing the ecological, recreational, and economic value of New Hampshire's lakes and ponds.

What is the purpose of the Lakes Legacy?

The purpose of the Lakes Legacy is to ensure the long-term sustainability of New Hampshire's beautiful lakes and ponds through understanding, appreciation and shared responsibility. It is an opportunity for supporters to create a lasting and meaningful legacy for future generations.

What kinds of programs or activities are funded through the Lakes Legacy?

Contributions received through the Lakes Legacy are used to help support the mission of the New Hampshire Lakes Association, which is to protect New Hampshire's lakes and ponds for current and future generations. Major program areas include lobbying the legislature on behalf of the lakes and public education concerning the importance of active involvement in the protection of the state's water bodies.

What levels of support are available through the Lakes Legacy?

The Lake Steward level of support is for gifts in the $500-$999 range; the Lake Patron level is $1000-$2499; the Lake Guardian level is $2500-$4999; and the Lake Leadership level is for gifts above $5000.

How may I become a member of the Lakes Legacy?

Simply complete and mail the attached pledge card. If you have additional questions about joining the Lakes Legacy, please call NH LAKES at 603/226-0299.
